RETENTION

The goal of this event is to launch you into sustainable & lasting growth.
We’re not just interested in seeing people baptized—we want them to become fully integrated into the church family. These post-revival strategies are designed to turn moments into momentum.  Help them stick with the journey!

Hold on to their baptismal certificate until next Sunday — here's why.

  • All baptism candidates are registered during the revival and re-registered at baptism.

  • Hold their certificate and personally call each individual after the revival.

  • Example call:
"We’ve prepared a special baptism certificate just for you. This Sunday is Celebration Sunday — we’ll call you to the stage and present it to you. Bring your family and friends!"
  • This creates anticipation, recognition, and connection for new believers and their families.

Innovative ways to quickly build connections.

  • Inspired by churches like the Varnums in Florida.

  • Cancel midweek service (for 1–2 weeks) and instead host a Jesus Fellowship Night:

    • Pizza, games, icebreakers, and intentional relationship building.

    • A short Bible study about what God did and where He's taking them next.

  • This format makes mass relational follow-up possible and often leads to more baptisms, especially from family members who missed the tent meetings.

Transition revival from the tent into the building.

  • Film a short video under the tent while taking it down:

    • Pastor expresses gratitude and excitement about what’s next.

    • “The tent is going down, but revival is just getting started.”

  • Post on Facebook, boost it, and send it to visitors — it reminds people the event isn’t over, it's moving to the church.

Messenger, Instagram, and even your cell phone can help retain these people!

  • Use visitor cards, Facebook messages, or Instagram DMs to reengage.

  • Record short, personal selfie videos (15–20 seconds) using the person's name:

    • “Hey Joe, this is Pastor Braden. I loved seeing you at the tent—revival’s continuing at the church, and I’d love for you to be there Sunday…”

  • Pro tip: Have your MVPs (pastor, assistant, youth/worship leaders) do this for the highest impact.

  • These videos feel personal, meaningful, and unforgettable—often leading people to show up at church.

The weekend following Tent Revival is a pivotal moment.

  • A Sunday service focused on celebrating everything God did under the tent.

  • Present baptismal certificates, highlight miracle stories, and cast vision for what God is doing next.

  • Many guests will be making their first visit to the building — make it count!

Build connection and community to ensure long-term commitment.

  • The faster someone makes a friend in church, the more likely they are to keep attending.

  • The faster someone has a role, the more likely they are to stay engaged.

  • Use:

    • Small groups (Taco Tuesdays, golf, book clubs) to create easy relational entry points.

    • Bible studies to provide personal discipleship and doctrinal grounding.

    • Any intentional outreach like coffee meetups or outreach teams to involve them right away.

“You can’t clean a fish that got off the hook — so keep them close and connected.”
