TAKE-DOWN

Luckily, gravity is on our side when the tent comes down—but we still need your help.

  • Taking down the tent is simpler than setup but still requires coordination and support.

  • Most of the tear-down begins the Sunday night after the final service—chairs, sound systems, and non-essentials are packed up.

  • The tent itself is typically taken down Monday afternoon, after it has had time to dry out completely.

Here’s what to expect when taking the tent down:

  • Best Day: Monday afternoon is ideal.

  • Timeline:

    • With a good team (20–25 people), expect 2–2.5 hours.

    • For the core tent team, it may take 4–5 hours.

  • What’s Needed:

    • No power or heavy equipment is needed, just manpower.

    • Blue tarps are laid out to protect the tent as it comes down.

    • The process is the reverse of setup: poles out, unlacing, folding the tent, burrito-style bagging, and packing into the trailer.

  • Stage and floodlights are removed last on Sunday night or early Monday before the full tent is dropped.

  • After pack-up, the team heads out within a few hours to the next location.

Sometimes nature has its own plans. Here's how we adapt:

  • The biggest issue isn’t rain during the event—it’s moisture and dew after.

    • Baptistry water and temperature shifts cause dew accumulation under the tent.

    • The tent must be 100% dry before packing to avoid permanent mildew damage.

  • Rain on Monday?

    • The process may need to be delayed until Tuesday or a clear window opens.

    • We cannot put a wet tent into storage.
